Need for Speed Most Wanted 2012 -- Origin On the House

Electronic Arts (EA) has been giving away the ‘2012 Need for Speed: Most Wanted’ game on its Origin gaming platform since early February. Sorry console gamers and Mac users, for this game is available only for Windows PC. It is not immediately clear as to how long this game will remain free on Origin’s On the House program, but only one game will be free at a time, and they will usually remain free for more than a month (except ‘Dragon Age: Origins’ and ‘Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2’) until the next game replaces it.

The ‘2012 Need for Speed: Most Wanted’ is not to be confused with the original Most Wanted from 2005. This 2012 version is considered a reboot, and is the franchise’s ninth installment. While the 2005 version was developed by EA Black Box and EA Redwood Shores, the 2012 reboot was made by Burnout developer Criterion Games (and later ported to Android and iOS by Firemonkeys Studios). Most Wanted 2012 took inspiration from Criterion’s earlier games including Burnout, and spliced it with open-world and multiplayer features.

As always, to get this free game, you’ll need to download and install Origin and sign-in with your EA Origin account, which is free too. Unlike Steam’s occasional free-to-play offers where some multiplayer games will be free for just a few days, EA’s On the House is free forever once you’ve secured it under your account.

Previous Origin On the House games include Battlefield 3 and Bejeweled 3. Again, the ‘Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012’ game can be found here: https://www.origin.com/en-sg/store/buy/nfs-most-wanted-2013/pc-download/base-game/standard-edition.
