Honor 5X

Honor 5X

Back in January 26th, Honor Malaysia launched its brand new Honor 5X, Honor 7 Enhanced, and the Honor Band Z1 for the local market. The Band Z1 was already available for RM259, but at the time we haven’t got the official prices and release date for the first two devices. As expected, since the Honor 7 is still priced at RM1,399, the Enhanced edition has to be pricier due to its larger, 32GB internal storage (compared to 16GB), and the premium-looking gold color. The Honor 7 Enhanced will set you back a hundred ringgit more, at RM1,499. There are two price points for the Honor 5X; the Gray and Silver Honor 5X are at RM899, while the Gold Honor 5X costs RM939. Pre-order and sale for the duo begin on February 16th 2016, a Tuesday.

  • Honor 5X Gold — RM939
  • Honor 5X Gray and Silver — RM899
  • Honor 7 Enhanced (Gold) — RM1,499
  • Honor 7 (Gray and SIlver) — RM1,399

There’s actually a nice little Honor 5X Trial Program to let interested buyers test out the Honor 5X for a month before pulling the trigger. It is only limited to 50 participants, and this program ends on March 15th 2016. Apparently the sign-up page for this Honor 5X Trial Program is at Vmall.my, but the page doesn’t seem to be available yet.

In any case, the pre-order window for the Honor 5X Gray, Silver, and Gold will happen on February 16th 2016 from 12:00pm to 11:59pm, or until stocks run out. Those who order on the 16th will get the device shipped out on February 19th 2016.

As for the Honor 7 Enhanced (Gold), sale starts on the same day, February 16th, with the second sale window a week later on February 23rd. Besides Vmall.my, you can also buy the Honor 7 Enhanced at Lazada and DirectD.

The “Enhanced” Honor 7 comes with a six-month cracked screen warranty, and both it, the Honor 7 Enhanced, and the Honor 5X, get a six-month one-to-one exchange warranty for manufacturing defects.

I’ll leave you with the specifications and some photos for both devices.
