Zyllem is a new regional logistics provider in town that offers same-day courier and parcel delivery services, within the Klang Valley area. The startup is confident that it is able to deliver on its promises by adopting an innovative open logistics network, consisting of over 700 active delivery partners. Founded in 2013 in Singapore, it was previously known as RocketUncle. According to the company, it had a great two-year run in Singapore, and following that success, it now wants to extend its on-demand same-day delivery services for regular folks, as well as for business too.

There are now over 100 courier services in Malaysia that are licensed by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), and I’m sure there are many more that not licensed. Zyllem aims to rise above the rest by offering a feature that many don’t — same-day delivery. The laziest way to describe Zyllem is this — it works a bit like Uber where regular folks like you and I could fire up the service (available on Android, iOS, as well as on the web), specify what package we’d like to send, and Zyllem will hook us up with a delivery partner nearby who will drop by to whisk the package to our intended recipient somewhere else in the Klang Valley.

Zyllem operates from Monday to Saturday, and it offers two main delivery types — standard and express — and they can be further divided to their own four subcategories. Standard deliveries are usually a four-hour service, but it is the 1-hour Express package that is the company’s flagship. However, 1-hour Express has an even smaller area, covering only Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, and Shah Alam city centers.

The lowest price of a Zyllem service is at RM9. By lowest, Zyllem probably meant the lightest/smallest parcel (like an envelope) delivered through the four-hour service on the most common delivery time period, which could probably be in the afternoon. Everything else will be priced much higher, especially the 1-hour Express, and the 2-way Express. Some of you may have read about another courier service called ezyCourier we’ve covered earlier, which has a starting price of RM6. However, you’ll also need to remember that Zyllem’s specialty here is, again, its same-day delivery which many competitors don’t even dare mention.

Being an Uber-like service, Zyllem is also always open for more delivery partners to join the service, in hopes to create enough supply to satisfy the demand. Delivery partners are said to be employed without a contract, and are given full flexibility to choose what jobs they wish to take, or how frequent they would like to deliver for Zyllem.
